Spring semester Enroll in MUS 601 Introduction to Graduate Study
Enroll in MUS 632 Topics in Music Theory
Fall semester Enroll in MUS 698 Research (3 credits)
Spring semester Enroll in MUS 698 Research (3 credits)
Enroll in MUS 690 Graduate Recital
Complete Graduate Degree Recital*
Complete Project Paper Defense**
*You must complete a recital pre-hearing no later than two weeks prior to the tentative recital date and prior to your Project Paper Defense.
**The final draft of your Project Paper must be received by members of your advisory committee no later than two weeks prior to the tentative date for your Project Paper Defense.
The signed Report on your Project Paper Defense form must be received by the Graduate School no later than the deadline posted by the Graduate School for the Spring semester of your graduating year. For this reason, your Project Paper Defense must take place no later than one week prior to this deadline, allowing sufficient time for any revisions to your Project Paper required by your advisory committee.
Dates for completion of important forms
Appointment of Graduate Advisory Committee: 1st Year, end of Spring semester
Report of Graduate Advisory Committee: 1st/ 2nd Year, end of Spring semester (committee completes these)
Graduate Study Plan (GSP): 1st Year, end of Spring semester (may be changed and resubmitted)
Advancement to Candidacy: one semester before graduation; this replaces the GSP in your file
